Family Based Nutrition Counseling
Family Based Nutrition Counseling provides guidance and support for families of children and adolescents struggling with disordered eating.
Aspects of Family Based Nutrition Counseling:

Kathryn is a Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist. She provides Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to children, adolescents, and adults who are experiencing eating disorders, depression, anxiety, unhealthy relationships, and life adjustments. As a family therapist, Kathryn has a unique perspective for supporting and encouraging each family member while addressing the concern that brought the family to therapy. Kathryn believes everyone has an inner strength and she views it as her job to guide you in finding and using this strength to live a life you enjoy living.

Brianne is a licensed therapist specializing in the treatment of trauma and eating disorders. Brianne has 15 years of experience working in inpatient and outpatient settings, with a variety of diagnoses and life circumstances. Elli is a Registered Dietitian licensed in both Kansas and Missouri. She specializes in eating disorders and general wellness. Elli has a BS in dietetics from Kansas State University and has experience working with clients of all ages in partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient levels of care. Elli works with each client to develop an individualized nutrition care plan according to their specific needs. Her passion is helping clients achieve food freedom through evidence-based nutrition education and exploration of nutrition beliefs. Elli uses a compassionate approach to guide clients to make peace with food and their bodies.

Stephanie Taylor

Stephanie is a Licensed Social Worker and an MSE in Curriculum and Instruction, and has degrees in Secondary English Education and Dance. She has experience working with eating disorders, depression, anxiety, and other life adjustment challenges at various levels of care. She uses therapeutic techniques tailored to each individuals needs, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), narrative therapy, spirituality/holistic approaches, and strengths-based perspective. Prior to becoming a therapist she taught middle and high school English and coached dance. She especially enjoys using her background in education and dance to work with athletes and dancers in their eating disorder recoveries.

Elizabeth Breedlove

Elizabeth has extensive history of advocacy and particular passion for teenagers and adults in the LGBTQIA+ community. She has been a change maker among the agencies she has worked in, promoting affirming interventions as well as ensuring each individual has a voice in their own mental health care. Elizabeth provides support and empowerment for trans individuals in each stage of transition, as well as for those who are non-binary or gender questioning. Elizabeth has a unique lens in the Eating Disorder treatment community as she addresses the intersectionality of disordered eating with gender dysphoria. She has been a primary force in identifying adult females with Autism in mental health treatment settings whom have never been diagnosed or misdiagnosed, and therefore never had their sensory needs properly addressed. She has fought for her clients to access a full and accurate assessment and diagnosis, allowing them to finally receive ASD inclusive treatment.

Megan Dunn is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist licensed in the state of Kansas. She earned a BS in psychology with a minor in biology from Northwest Missouri State University, as well as a BS in Food and Nutrition from The University of Alabama. She has valuable experience working with eating disorders, especially within the adolescent population. Megan works with her clients to create individualized nutrition care plans that address their specific needs and values, while encouraging them to reach their goals. Elizabeth (Alli) Carrigan is a Licensed Master Social Worker in the state of Kansas and obtained both her undergraduate degree (BSW) and masters degree (MSW) from The University of Kansas. She has experience working with children and teens in multiple settings. Taylor is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Kansas. She began her work with eating disorders as a group therapist in the partial hospitalization level of care. Here, Taylor led a variety of groups for both adults and adolescents. Taylor currently serves as an adjunct professor at Fort Hays
State University, teaching classes on the treatment of eating disorders. She has also conducted research examining the treatment and prevention of eating disorders. Annalissa is Licensed Master Social Worker in the state of Kansas and employs a person-centered, strengths-based approach to therapy where you are empowered as the ultimate director of your own path. As your guide, the treatment modalities she incorporates are mindful/acceptance-based approaches including DBT and ACT, and she has completed several workshops on IFS therapy and regularly integrate its concepts into her therapeutic approach. Her goal as a therapist is to accompany you on the journey back to yourself, back to wholeness, confidence, and wellness. Using her nutrition counseling skills, Emma has experience working with adolescents, adults, and athletes with eating disorders and disordered eating across various levels of care. Abby Brown

Abby is a licensed professional counselor in Kansas and North Carolina. Abby obtained her Bachelor’s degree in criminology from Benedictine College where she was a member of the volleyball team. Abby then obtained her masters degree in clinical mental health counseling from Georgia Southern University. Abby has experience working with ages 12+ who struggle with eating disorders, depression, anxiety, and borderline personality disorder. Abby plans to become a certified eating disorder specialist during her career. She is foundationally trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Radically Open Dialectical Behavior Therapy (RODBT.)
