About the Program

Bellatore’s Intensive Outpatient Program is designed to meet the needs of individuals requiring more intensive care. Programming is offered during evening hours, often a challenging time for those struggling with eating disorders.

While participating in the Intensive Outpatient Program, clients use DBT diary cards, an important tool to reinforce and solidify skills.

We have a variety of groups tailored to help our clients work through the specific challenges of their eating disorder.

Didactic groups

Didactic groups explore topics integral to recovery including body image, nutrition education, family systems, mindfulness, spirituality, and interpersonal relationships.

Expressive groups

Expressive groups provide clients opportunity to dig deep into underlying issues and dynamics central to their recovery process. In addition to traditional “talk therapy,” clients are able to express themselves using art, movement and music therapy, and creative writing.

Exposure groups

Exposure groups allow clients to practice recovery skills with support from others related to food, exercise, and self-regulation.

Program Features

Meal Support

Each evening, clients participate in a supported meal with one of our Registered Dietitians. Clients bring their own meal on Mondays and Tuesdays and a restaurant meal is catered in on Thursdays. Meal support also integrates mindfulness skills and post-meal process.

Support & Education for Loved Ones

The leadership team works closely with the families of our clients, and provides ongoing communication. We believe family members should feel connected to their loved one’s care and supported throughout their recovery journey.

Small Groups

We provide a small and intimate group setting. Groups are led by Bellatore’s leadership team and experienced professionals with extensive training in the treatment of eating disorders. We have a variety of groups tailored to help our clients work through the specific challenges of their eating disorder
